Learn about drowning prevention at the City of Irvine Water Safety Challenge. This event is held in collaboration with the nonprofit Stop Drowning Now to bring awareness to the dangers of drowning: the leading cause of accidental death in the United States for children younger than 5 years old, and the second leading cause of accidental death for kids under the age of 14.

The City of Irvine invites the community to its inaugural Juneteenth Freedom Celebration. The free event will take place Sunday, June 19, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at the Great Park Palm Court.

The celebration of freedom, hope, and joy honors the history and contributions of African Americans to the cultural fabric of our community and nation. The community is invited to learn about Black culture as well as the history and significance of Juneteenth through interactive activities, local organizations, and live performances.
