The City of Irvine is reviewing Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) and Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit (JADU) applications per state statute. A completed Residential Accessory Dwelling Unit (RADU) application and ADU Verification Form are required for all ADU and JADU projects.

A parking lot modification (or "re-striping") permit is required when one or more of the following are proposed for any developed site within the City of Irvine:
For a Single-Family Dwelling or Townhouse with a Private Dedicated Garage

You may need to upgrade your existing electric panel to accommodate the proposed Electric Vehicle Charging Station (EVCS)

All EVCS applications will need to be submitted electronically through the IrvineReady! Online Plan Submission Portal

- For information regarding storage battery installations, please review article 480 of the California Electrical Code
- Review the Site Plan/Floor Plan Guidance (below) while preparing your documents and drawings
- Your Homeowners Association may have its own approval process. Review your HOA policies and procedures before proceeding with your design plans
- Structural calculations may be required depending on the battery installation location
Overview
- After you have completed and gathered all of the required documents, you will need to submit your permit application and plans electronically through the Automated Online Permit System
- You can only obtain these permits online if you meet the criteria stated. Upon acceptance of your online application you will be emailed your permit along with any pertinent bulletins
