The tragic events of September 11, 2001 that occurred is a day in our nation’s history that we can never forget. On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) is commemorating the 18th anniversary of the horrific attacks of 9/11. Marking this important anniversary, OCFA will host the annual Remembrance Ceremony to honor the 2,977 men, women and children killed in the attacks at the World Trade Center site, the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93.

The Irvine Strategic Active Transportation Plan is reaching the final stages of development. The fourth and final public outreach event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25 at 5:30 at Irvine Civic Center Conference Training Center (CTC).

The City of Irvine invites you to join the planning team, residents, and fellow stakeholders as we showcase the draft pedestrian and bicycle recommendations. You will have an opportunity to share your feedback with us regarding these proposed improvements.

Sweet Shade Universal Playground

The community welcome’s Irvine’s first universal playground at Sweet Shade Neighborhood Park. Sweet Shade is a 7.9-acre public neighborhood park and home to Sweet Shade Ability Center, where the City's Disability Services program provides activities for individuals with sensory, physical, or cognitive disabilities, and their family members. The creation of the City's first universal playground complements the Ability Center and will expand inclusive recreational opportunities for all Irvine residents.
