Learn everything you need to know about sustainable home gardening practices. Workshops are conducted by the UCCE Master Gardeners of Orange County. 

On September 26, discover what to plant in the fall so you can have vegetables and flowers all winter long. All attendees will leave with some seedlings for their gardens.

Registration is not required; drop-ins are welcome. Ages 12+. 

These popular and unique workshops and demonstrations are presented by Solutions for Urban Agriculture. 

On October 3, learn the ins-and-outs of sourdough cultivation and baking. The valuable workshop is free; the sourdough starter is available for purchase for $6. Participants can choose from the 1800 Gold Rush or the Denver (59 years old) varieties. All ages. On December 20, use materials available from the farm to make unique and creatively decorated gifts that will grow and feed others..

On November 15, learn about creating edible landscape by using every little bit of outdoor space. Children will take home seedlings made with natural materials to expand their gardens at home.

The City of Irvine hosts a special modified ceremony to pay tribute to our nation’s troops — past and present — and honor local veterans, veterans groups, and military organizations. The Veterans Day ceremony will be presented online for the community to view at their convenience. The presentation will include a tribute from Mayor Christina L. Shea, remarks from officers from the City’s adopted Marine battalion, and musical performances and event footage from past ceremonies. For more information, call 949-724-6606.
