Cruise into the holiday spirit with the City of Irvine and the Irvine 2/11 Marine Adoption Committee at the Holiday Toy Drive: Drive-Thru Drop-Off Saturday, December 9, 9 a.m.–noon, at the Irvine Civic Center.
Pack up your car with a brand-new, unwrapped toy suitable for children ages 12 and younger.
Drive to the designated drop-off spot at the Irvine Civic Center Parking Lot, right next to Deanna Manning Stadium at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park.
Irvine residents can receive up to three pre-packaged bags (20 pounds per bag) of free compost December 9, 9 a.m.–noon, at the Great Park, Parking Lot 8.
Directions from 5 and 405 Freeways:
- Exit Sand Canyon Avenue and turn left.
- Turn right on Great Park Boulevard.
- Lot 8 is located off of Skyhawk and Great Park Boulevard, next to Wild Rivers.

In partnership with the City of Irvine, WM, the City's waste hauler, is hosting a free paper-shredding event. Irvine residents can safely and securely dispose of up to five banker-size file boxes. The event is first-come, first-served and will end early if truck capacity is reached. Customers who wish to watch their paper be shredded will need to park in a designated area away from the truck and staff.
