Destination Irvine is the City of Irvine's official Destination Marketing Organization. Under the City of Irvine, Destination Irvine, funded by a self-imposed assessment tax through a Hotel Improvement District (HID), positions Irvine as a destination for visitors, meetings and groups. Destination Irvine, through direct sales efforts including database marketing, lead generation, trade show participation, and familiarization tours, sells the destination.
The Communications & Engagement Department plays a crucial role in maintaining an effective flow of information between the City government and its residents, businesses, and visitors. Made up of four divisions: Marketing & Communications, Irvine Community Television, Engagement, and the Destination Irvine, the department is responsible for ensuring that the public is well-informed about City policies, initiatives, events, programs, and services.
