Meet Alkaid Ramirez, an emerging OC-based photographer whose newest mixed-media work in Terrain pays homage to and spotlights his local community. His photographs of swap-meet locals, coupled with material references to domestic spaces, yield work that is simultaneously playful and sentimental.

Alkaid’s work has been exhibited at Redwood Art Association, Eureka, California; Carnegie Plaza at MUZEO, Anaheim, California; and the Latinx Project.

Meet cross-disciplinary artist Beth Davila Waldman, whose work is featured in the exhibition Terrain. Learn about her creative practice, conceptual and material explorations, and how the “Divisions” series reflects her personal and social concerns. Her art practice has been influenced by borrowed symbols and landscapes from her maternal homeland Peru as well as other international sites such as Hong Kong and Vietnam.
