The City of Irvine’s mission is to create and maintain a community where people can live, work, and play in an environment that is safe and vibrant. The City’s response regarding immigration-related matters has not changed — the City of Irvine continues to focus on providing exceptional services to all in the community regardless of immigration status.

The Irvine Police Department is not involved in any federal immigration enforcement and remains committed to its role in protecting public safety and serving all members of the Irvine community.

The Irvine Public Library is actively working to expand our book collection, with new items added each week. We appreciate your patience as we continue enhancing both our selections and the online catalog following the recent service transition.

Books, magazines, DVDs, and a variety of other items can be checked out for free with your Irvine Public Library card. Don't see a title in our catalog? Please submit a Request for Purchase!

Founded in 2025, Irvine Public Library (IPL) serves the City of Irvine’s 300,000+ residents, as well as those in surrounding communities. We provide access to books, information, technology, programs, and services that encourage lifelong learning.

The Irvine Public Library system currently comprises two branch libraries, the Heritage Park Library and the University Park Library. The Katie Wheeler Library is projected to open as IPL’s third branch in 2026, and the City plans to continue expanding Irvine Public Library with future library sites in the coming years.

The City of Irvine and the Fair Housing Foundation will host a free virtual Fair Housing Workshop Tuesday, August 19, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Learn about your rights and responsibilities as tenants and landlords, including fair housing laws, discrimination protections, rent increases, evictions, and more.

Before heading out to explore Irvine’s parks, trails, and open space preserves, it is important to plan ahead and take precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for yourself and others. One of the benefits of living in a City with such abundant open space is the accessibility to nature and trails for hiking, biking, and recreation. But when considering enjoying an activity in the open space, it is also important to be mindful of what you need to "Know Before You Go."

Join us for the final workshop in the Heritage Park master planning series. At this community workshop, we will reflect on the valuable input we have gathered from residents, unveil inspiring early master plan concepts, and invite you to cast your vote for the vision that most excites you.

This project is a collaborative effort between the Community & Library Services Department and the Office of Health & Wellness.

Heritage Community Park is located at 14301 Yale Ave.
