Irvine Public Libraries Transition Plan

Update on Irvine Library Location Hours

Heritage Park & University Park Library Branches

On May 16, the County of Orange closed the Heritage Park and University Park Library locations. These locations will open as part of the Irvine Public Library system Monday, August 4.

Help shape the future growth of Irvine's new library system!

The new Irvine Public Library is set to open in early August, and planning is already underway to grow and enhance the library system. You’re invited to attend an upcoming community meeting to share your ideas and help shape the future of Irvine’s libraries — whether it’s the location, building design, or spaces. Your input will be essential in ensuring that future branches and improvements reflect the needs and values of our diverse community.

Help us build a library system that serves everyone in Irvine — now and for generations to come!

The meetings will be held the following dates from 6-7:30 p.m.:

  • Monday, June 2, at Deerfield Community Center
  • Wednesday, June 4, at Las Lomas Community Center
  • Thursday, June 5, at 5301 California Ave. Cypress Room
  • Monday, June 9, at Stonegate Elementary School
  • Wednesday, June 11, at Lakeview Senior Center
  • Thursday, June 12, at Portola Springs Community Center
