The Fleet Services division provides comprehensive vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance, automated fueling and other vehicle services exclusively for the City's motorized vehicle fleet and heavy equipment. Also, Fleet Services performs routine maintenance on miscellaneous equipment and routinely fabricates vehicle modifications at the request of City departments.
In addition, Fleet Services is responsible for maintaining fuel depots including regular, diesel and natural gas fuels. The City of Irvine is in a public-private partnership with Clean Energy to provide compressed natural gas as motor vehicle fuel. The City presently has 67 alternative fueled vehicles in its fleet. A fueling facility for City and public vehicles is located at the City of Irvine's Operational Support Facility, 6427 Oak Canyon, Irvine. Fuel can be purchased with most Visa and MasterCard as well as Clean Energy gas cards.
