One Irvine Home Improvement Loan Program 

Application Guidelines and Instructions

The City of Irvine Home Improvement Loans provide loans to owners of single-family homes and condominiums built in or before 1975 for sustainability upgrades or critical repairs. Funding is limited and applications are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis until funding is exhausted.

Program Overview:

Join OC Waste & Recycling for a free compost giveaway event Saturday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to noon. 

Proof of residency is required. Residents can visit the following locations to receive free compost while supplies last. If visiting the Irvine and San Juan locations, bring a shovel and container to fill. Quantities are limited; the event is subject to weather conditions.

The Irvine Police Department will host an Open House Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held in the piazza and parking lot of the Irvine Civic Center located at 1 Civic Center Plaza.

See police and fire vehicles along with skill demonstrations from K-9, drone, and motorcycle officers. There will be opportunities to take photos, play games, get a face painting, and receive special giveaways while supplies last. Food will be available for purchase.

Celebrate National Public Works Week with the City of Irvine

Effective January 1, 2022, all California residences and businesses are required to separate organic waste from other trash and non-organic recyclables and participate in an organic waste collection program. For more information on the legislation, visit the Irvine SB 1383 webpage.

In addition, food service businesses must donate surplus edible food to food recovery organizations.
